Florence Simpson is a Deputy Director for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). With 15 years of experience at LAUSD, and over 30 years of experience in the college and restaurant industry, she brings a broad spectrum of knowledge to the LAUSD leadership team.
LAUSD operates the largest School Breakfast Program and second-largest National School Lunch Program in the United States, servicing more than 695 cafes, 89 Early Education Centers, and 100+ off-site programs each day. By providing more than 710,000 meals each school day with innovative programs such as Breakfast in the Classroom and Hot Supper, the District continuously strives to fulfill its mission of Nourishing Children to Achieve Excellence.
