Meet Jason Mojica

Board Member
Jason Mojica, currently the Executive Director at Chicago Public Schools, oversees the daily provision of 250,000 meals. A Chicago native, his culinary journey began at The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago, now Le Cordon Bleu, where he earned his chef credentials. Jason’s career started in healthcare, with four promotions in eight years, eventually reaching a management role. He then spent eight years at the University of Chicago, rising from a supervisor to the food service director of a campus dining hall. After a brief stint as the General Manager at the Philadelphia Prison System, he returned to Chicago. Over eight years with Chicago Public Schools, he held various roles, from food service director to regional chef. His dedication led to positions as compliance manager, director of operations, and finally, executive director. With over three decades of experience, Jason’s passion lies in K-12 food service. His commitment to providing high-quality, nutritious meals with exceptional customer service is deeply personal – his children graduated from CPS schools, and his granddaughters currently attend. Together with his dedicated teams, Jason strives to create a world-class dining program that brings pride to students, staff, and the community.
