Meet Dr. Lois Carpenter

USFA Director At Large
Dr. Lois Carpenter earned a PhD in Health Behavior and Promotion and a Graduate Certificate in Program Evaluation from the University of Mississippi. She is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist and has held professional positions within non-profit, local, state, and federally funded organizations. Dr. Carpenter is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department Health Promotion Sciences at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences’ Hudson College of Public Health. Prior to her transition into academia, Dr. Carpenter spent 7.5 years working as an Education and Training Specialist at the Institute of Child Nutrition where she developed trainings and educational materials to support school foodservice professionals nationally. She also led ICN’s work with the Chefs Move to Schools initiative, as well as coordinated efforts to initiate engagement with Tribally affiliated school foodservice professionals.
