Meet Alicia Pitrone Hauser
Board Director
Alicia Pitrone Hauser is a career School Foodie who fell in love with the path while interning at Boston Public Schools as part of her dietitic internship program. Alicia received her Bachelor of Science in Clinical Nutrition at the University of Rhode Island and completed her dietetic internship at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts earning her registration as a dietitian in 1998.
Alicia began serving in her current role as the Director of Food and Nutrition Services for the San Diego Unified School District in March of 2023. Her background is a unique one. After 10 years as the Director of Nutrition for a high school district, she embarked on a career in sales for 6 years, two with Buena Vista Foods and four with San Diego county’s local Hollandia Dairy. Both sales positions afforded fantastic networking with school foodservice professionals across southern California and Arizona and an education in manufacturing and product development. It is now her honor and privilege to lead the San Diego Unified team.
